There are a lot of questions and news reports regarding the stimulus checks that will be issued by the federal government. The IRS has not updated their website yet about the timing and process but will do so soon. The link to the IRS website below will provide the most accurate up to date information.
A couple of notes that have been widely reported in media outlets that may or may not be accurate but would be a good thing to do regardless of the stimulus checks.
1- If either in 2018 or 2019 you signed up for direct deposit it is likely the stimulus check will be deposited in that account. If you had not authorized the IRS to direct deposit any refund into your account, it is likely you will receive a paper check.
2- If your mailing address is not current on your 2019 tax filing, or your 2018 filing if you haven’t filed 2019, you should submit a change of address form, which normally takes four to six weeks to process. You can use the link above to access the necessary form. You should also notify the post office as well.
This has nothing to do with updating your address with Bricktown Brewery. Doing so will not update your mailing address with the IRS or the Post Office. Please do not submit any address changes to Bricktown Brewery. They cannot be processed at this time.
Please share this information with your teams and send out a message on CTUIT. Please include the message highlighted in red. We will also post the information at https://bricktownbrewery.com/employeeinfo/. Keep checking the IRS website https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus for the most up to date information.
